I've met two people who just picked up Titans. Seem like very nice capable trucks. Just so you know, there is a case of beer up for grabs to anybody who has to pull out one of those Toy Boys... ;D

Patty had an '86 Trooper II when I met her. It was only 3 years old but had a hard life already. Still, the darn thing just kept going. The crankshaft finally fell out of it (it had eath rattle for 60K miles) and that was that. Kind of miss that POS.

I have a friend that just bought a new Titan.  Crewcab, 4wd, V8, etc...  All I hear from him is how bad the fuel milage and the fit/finish is, he wishes he had his old Tacoma with 200k+ miles on it back. ;D
Wanted: Set of 80's style gold mod/nugget wheels in good condition.

Hey dude,

I never said the Titan was economical... I read somewhere that the Titan had more power that the Toyota and that surprised me. I always laughed at Nissan's tough truck advertising etc... Remember the plastic molded fender flares that they tried to make look rugged with molded bolts etc...

I test drove a nissan titan, not too shabby i must say. defintely has better powerplant than a toyota not sure how the durability and longvity of it will be. All i know is that i have had two nissans, 86 hardbody pickup w/ over 300k miles still running strong and a 94 nissan sentra with 200k and runs great. Both economical, but they are fourbangers no v8 power :( haha, oh well.  Would like to see the nissan titans out in the rough trails and see how it will perform.

I read a thing posted years ago about how they test their truck. One of the big-wigs at Nissan gives a 4wd truck prototype to his son and says "don't bring it back until you break something". Then they fix it and repeat the process. Sounds pretty cool way to do it to me. Fun job too!

If the bigwig wants to really test it out, he should give the keys to his daughter or son's girl friend... :P

I heard about him from him, in a post on the offroad mailing lift about 4 or 5 years ago. The guy was signing off because he was moving back to Japan for a few years. The truck he was going to be testing was a mid-size, that's all he would ever say. He even hinted about the new V-8 fullsize they were working on. This was well before anyone had heard of it. I tended to believe him, as did his personal friends who used to go out with him on these testing sessions. They are still around.

All legends have just enough fact in them to make them believable. That's the beauty of legends. Take it for what it's worth I guess...... ???
