4Runner #1  This is the one I will be building.  I love the totally 80's paint job. Grin

4Runner #2  This one is rusty and full of bootyfab work so it will be parted out.  Pic of it at TDS 06

Cool. 4Runner #1 looks right out of star wars... I would have thought it was an X wing star fighter if it had X wings. I do like the 80 styling though. However, I am glad it does not have the sold gold rims (solid gold dancers good... solid gold rims not...) Grin Where was that first picture taken... That looks a lot like Utah to me... Will Jed be picking up any of the parts of 4Runner #2, or will he be going more extreme?

Hahaha, my first truck was a 79 Ford Courier (2.3 bud) that was yellow with those gold anodized wheels!  I loved it.  Some day I'm gonna re-create that truck so I'm on the lookout for a primo set of those wheels for my resto. Grin

The pic of the white 4runner is one that I saved from the for sale add when I bought it.  The guy lived in Ridgecrest so I figure that is where the pic was taken. Huh

I'm sure that there will be some parts from the black one that end up on Jed's rig.  I'm already hooking him up with a front axle, just not the one in the black truck.  Some how I ended up with three front axles so we already have some spares in case of breakage. Grin

I will say that the 4Runners were waaay cool in '86 when I was turning 16. I wanted one bad... or a Mustang GT... or a Jeep XJ... Needless to say, none of those happened. I did however get to drive my Step Moms Mazda GLC. I got to drive it a lot more after we left live bait in the car for over three weeks while we were on vacation. The live bait had crawled under the seat after a fishing trip to Lake Michigan. Tongue

I'll keep my eyes peeled for your bling bling gold rims.

The only reason you can't decide is because you aren't in the pic.  You would win hands down.

Jed, are you going to replace/fix that fender, or smash the other fender to make them match?

I've wanted a winch for a very long time, but I think it's going to be another very long time before that dream comes true. Like they say... wish in one hand and crap in the other... and see which hand fills up first. Grin

Are those mods listed in the order you plan to attack them? I figured you guys would be running 35's, but I'm glad to see you guys aren't building trucks for show, not go... Will you be trimming fenders to clear those 37's?

Don't forget a real roll cage... I've seen the places you go...

As they sit stock... I like Earl's more... He has cooler stripes and cooler rims and straight fenders... The tires/rims will cancel each other out since you will both be running the same shortly. I've always liked the darker colors over white, especially grey. Is your passenger side mirror broken... That's a few years bad luck if so. I'll bet those things have A/C and CD...

You guys will be twins out there. How cute! Have you decided who is pitching and who is catching yet? I know Jed likes to be out front.... Tongue

I still just can't see it. Jed in anything but a Dodge........ That will take some serious getting used to.

Hey, for what it's worth I like them both. Nice trucks guys. Can't wait to see them built and wheel with both of them. ...End of touchy-feely moment.

I'm having to really streeeetch to see Jed in anything but a Dodge too... I guess there's not much Dodge stuff he can put on that Toy, but I'm sure he'll have a huge flag and and obscene sticker. Grin

After further thought... I like both trucks the same. I didn't realize it at the time I made my comment before last that the stripes would also cancel each other out since you guys won't have them for too long... I know you are narrower, but it only takes one wrong turn. Grin

Yeah, this kinda of hard to get out of the powerwagon. I drove it the other day for the first time since TDS. I will miss the V8 power for sure.  The worst part... I have decided to sell my Dart too. Maybe even the Stude!!! Shocked

I just have too much stuff! No time and money to finish anything right the first time! I want to get back to going out to the desert like old times. I just enjoy life instead of worring about $$ for ten cars and the stress to go with it. I can't have it all (at least on my budget!!)

On the toyota, I plan to shorten the ass end and then have it painted (with new fenders chopped to hell of course! Grin) Then comes a full exo cage. I have been driving it around town a bunch. I am dying get it up in the air. 37's just look huge!  A winch will happen later. I am surprised no of us has been stuck enough to need one. No CD (yet) but the A/C works!! I drove it last sunday with the windows down and the air on!! Grin

I don't know anything about your dart, but I work with a guy who asked me if I knew of any for sale the other day... I think he's interested in a particular year and motor... One thing is fer sher... You will have a killer damn Toyota without all of those other projects getting in the way of the time and money... Spend, spend, spend... Make sure your wife doesn't notice the extra money, or she might ask for a raise. Grin

Not the Stude!  I can see selling the Dart, the Manx, and even the Power Wagon, but not the Stude.

Thanks for the warm fuzzy compliments.
Yes John, the white 4Runner does have working AC and a CD player. Grin

Hey Bill, how do I forward a post to Dana? J/K... I would hang on to the stude... It might be the easiest to sell, but I do think you would regret it.

Actually Bill, I don't know much about this trip yet. My Mom asked me to come out and visit. It sounds like it's some sort of small family reunion... No kids etc... I'm actually going to Salt Lake City for a few days to visit family and then we are heading up for a few days. I'm not sure if I need to tow one of my Grandpa's camper trailers or not... I wouldn't have a clue where to go for wheelin' Let me know if you would want to go... I don't think it would be a problem. I'll see about getting more info tomorrow.
