Just kidding Jed and Earl. How are you guys doing?

I wanted to find out if Jed has 4 less cylinders than me, or only 2 less cylinders now! Grin And we're not counting all of the cylinders he's got lying around the garage! Tongue

Do you have nothing better to do than poke sticks at us Toyota guys?  Is your junk ready to go yet?  Bring it up to Big Bear whenever you are ready.  Tongue

Since you asked...
I just got finished with an engine swap (like for like 22re) myself.  The old one was tired and smoked badly.  Didn't pass smog last time so I figured it needed replaced.  While it was out we fixed the steering box mount that I broke, repaired a broken spring center bolt, and replaced the shock mounts.

Jed will be starting his V6 swap soon.  Still waiting on a few of the parts.

RC:
I'm ordering dual Perm-a-Cool 14" fans from Summit tomorrow. I was going to do it today, but got busy.
Bill has an idea of what I did wrong to cause hard start etc... I probably hooked one of the vaacum lines up wrong. The sooner I get this thing smogged, the sooner I can put the Edlebrock carb back on. It ran great with that carb... Hopefully it's not fouled now from sitting so long.

ZJ:
I'll spend time on the ZJ this weekend. Need to be sure the tank is empty since it sat for 5 years (Dang! Tongue)
Bill has a spare neutral safety clip we're going to splice into the ZJ harness. It won't be long before we can fire it up... I know I keep saying that, but it's really true!

On a side note... I'll bring that dmv form to Ocatillo for Melanie to sign (or you to forge). I assume you'll be bringing your better halves to Ocatillo in November. Jed needs his late night b-day present, and I won't be the one giving it Evil. Well I won't be giving Jed anything but sh*t and Bud Light!

Cheers!

Cheers!

Why did you say it twice? Is there now a difference between sh*t and Bud Light?

Who is going to Big Bear in Nov? I was heading for Ocotillo, am I the only one?  Roll Eyes

Yes, my junk runs but I can't follow you guys with my beast. Maybe I can get the Heep done by then but I doubt it. That would require effort and cash. Neither of which I have or like to part with these days, hehe....

Now you have the right place, but you still can't spell!

Bring it to Big Bear sooner if you want, but I doubt that you can get anything running before Nov.  Tongue

At first glance, I thought you were saying this to Jed because he called your 22RE junk, but I have a feeling your referring to me... I'll get some pics in September and more in November. Hopefully they aren't pics of carnage. Man, I wish I had a camera at lunch today. You should have seen the girl standing if front of me in the order line...(-)(-) Shocked

The only thing that Jed does for me is weld and provide flat working space, and maybe a little advise.  I do all my own wrenching.  You guys really need to get something done and show up on a trail to talk smack. Roll Eyes

Technically, I started it. Grin But it's all in good fun! Grin I'll have something pieced together by November. It's definitely time for all of us to get out on the trail together.

As far as Jed's b-day present goes....  I think if BOTH of you showed up that would put enough stress on his heart.  He is getting old you know.

Jed is getting old, but he never slows down! So his heart is finely tuned to handle most shocking situations. Shocked

Oh, you want more...do you?  How about this, my 16-yo stepdaughter wants a truck for her first car.  I'm looking for a Toyota 4x4 of course.  She'll probably be out wheeling before you guys are.  Tongue

(Side note:  My mechanic in town has a YJ, unknown year, 4cyl 5spd for $2400.  Good deal or not?  It wouldn't be heavily modded, just some easy Big Bear trails and lots and lots of mall crawling.  Looked like a decent car for a 16-yo girl.)

HOLY CRAP!!!!  Shocked

This thread got out of control!!!!

Some parts showed up today for the V6 swap. I won't get to start on it for a least a week. I am redoing the garage and cleaning up the yard some (making room for my latest addition). Once that's done I will get on it.  Cool

Earl if buy her a jeep I will smack you!!!  I can't believe you even thought about!!  Evil

That doesn't even make sense. She wants a truck for her first TRUCK. She don't want no stinkin' car! Grin Why don't you come to your senses and sell her your Toyota and buy yourself a Dodge! Evil

Can't fault Earl for having common sense. A jeep can be a lot of fun.

What improvement in HP do you expect after the swap?

I assume the latest addition doesn't have stinky diapers if you're cleaning out the garage. At least tell us if it's 4 wheel drive or rhymes with Dodge Fart!

Spill the beans Earl if Jed doesn't!
